Building Block is a summer workshop series to learn the basics of building outdoor, wooden structures. It’s a space for anyone who has felt excluded from learning these skills because of their gender. Classes include 5-7 people and plenty of time to ask questions as you learn to build.

Summer 2024 Workshops

Build a Planter

This workshop introduces you to drilling, cutting with a circular saw, and cutting with a jigsaw. Over the course of six hours, you’ll practice how to work with these different tools and then apply what you learned to a small, square planter you can use indoors or outdoors. At the end of the day, everyone will take home their own planter. The workshop includes snacks and drinks throughout the day.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll learn…

Sliding scale between $100–$150.

We want these workshops to be accessible to as many people as possible. Please consider your financial needs when choosing where you fall on the sliding scale. If you’re comfortably able to pay $150 we appreciate that deeply as it supports everyone’s participation.
